TROY, N.C. – Bright, bold colors are moving to center stage at the High Point Market April 25-29 as Capel Rugs gets set to roll out a large assortment of new rug collections with colorful palettes and innovative styling, including three new Moroccan-inspired designs. Capel Rugs’ High Point showroom is located at 200 N. Hamilton St., South Court.

The latest Moroccan collections – Bazaar, Casablanca and Sahara – explore a different theme drawing on the spirit of this culturally rich North African crossroads. Bold colors, intricate geometric patterns and rich textures play a prominent role in each design.

Bazaar, a hand-knotted collection that celebrates the color and craft of contemporary Moroccan fabrics, is a 100% wool design made in India. Vibrant, multi-hued color stories flow across each surface in rugged geometric motifs and expressive, painterly lines, evoking the spontaneity and artistic character of handcrafted Moroccan textiles.

Bazaar comes in five fresh patterns – prism, sunset, saffron, mosaic and spice multi – with a variety of colors featured on each rug. Three sizes are available – 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for under $1,699.

“Every rug in the Bazaar collection feels like a curated artwork – bold, layered and full of movement,” said Cameron Capel, president of sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “Our strategy this market is to showcase lots of color and fun, hip designs, drawing on creative influences from Morocco and beyond.”

Another new hand-knotted collection putting a fresh spin on Moroccan-inspired design is Casablanca. Bright, airy and effortlessly stylish, Casablanca features 100% New Zealand felted wool hand-loomed in India. Suitable for traditional or contemporary interiors, Casablanca combines light backgrounds with soft greens and calming blues, accented by rugged geometric lines.

“The imperfect, hand-drawn lines add texture and character, creating a warm, inviting and distinctly contemporary look,” Capel said.

Casablanca’s four designs include sage multi, indigo multi, desert and ivory multi. Three sizes are offered – 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for under $1,199.

The third collection with North African roots is Sahara, a modern homage to Moroccan minimalism. Available in six patterns and colorways, each rug in the Sahara collection features a clean, contemporary geometric linework set against light, neutral backdrops evocative of desert landscapes.

Hand-loomed in India with premium New Zealand wool, Sahara features a thick, dense pile. The design options include stone, ash, sand, salt, chalk and reed. Three sizes are available, 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6” and 9’ x 12’ with a 5’ x 8’ rug retailing for under $1,099.

Calypso, also new this market, is hand-knotted in India and made from 80% premium wool and 20% viscose for shimmer and elegance. Inspired by the effortless flow of nature, each piece evokes the organic movement of the ocean floor, where soft, neutral tones – warm taupes, subtle greys and ivory highlights –intertwine in fluid, abstract patterns.

Three patterns are offered – tidepool, reef and glacier in four sizes, 5’6” x 8’6”, 7’6” x 9’6”, 8’6” x 11’6” and 9’6” x 13’6”. A 5’6” x 8’6” rug may retail for under $3,399.

Meticulously hand-knotted in India using 100% wool, the new Tessara collection embodies the craftsmanship of generations. Woven in a refined quality, each piece showcases the intricate detail and durability that define heirloom rugs. Traditional motifs are thoughtfully reimagined in a sophisticated palette of updated hues and modern neutrals, offering a fresh take on classic design.

Tessara comes in a variety of colorways including: frosted mist, silver haze, stonewash, sapphire multi, seraph blue, greige tan and walnut. Four sizes are offered – 5’6” x 8’6”, 7’6” x 9’6”, 8’6” x 11’6” and 9’6” x 13’6”. A 5’6” x 8’6” rug may retail for under $3,399.

Rounding out the list of new hand-tufted rugs being introduced by Capel Rugs this market is Waves. Hand-tufted of 100% wool, Waves features loop and cut yarns with a hi-lo texture. Three colorways – storm, blue current and harbor clay – are offered along with three sizes 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for under $499.

“Flowing with effortless elegance, the Waves Collection is a hand-tufted series of area rugs meticulously crafted in India from 100% premium wool,” Capel said. “Inspired by the natural movement of water, each rug features an organic, fluid design.”

In addition to these six new hand-knotted collections, Capel Rugs is introducing two new machine-made collections – Allure and Summerfield.

The Allure Collection, in 80% wool and 20% nylon, explores the quiet complexity of form, color and texture through a series of abstract compositions designed for modern living. The abstract designs draw from painterly gestures and shifting landscapes, conveying subtle movement and depth.

Allure features four colorways – tidepool, haze, cerulean and terranova. Four sizes are available – 2’6” x 10’, 5’ x 7’6”, 7’9” x 10’ and 9’ x 12’5”. A 5’ x 7’6” rug may retail for under $1,199.

The other new machine-made addition is the Summerfield collection, a 100% polyester line crafted in India with a ¼-inch pile height. Available in five colorways, each rug features a traditional design that appears lovingly time-worn, as though passed down through generations. Delicate blush, powder blues and sun-faded ivory tones mingle across intricate motifs, creating a look that is timeless and uplifting.

“Summerfield captures the gentle beauty of a summer afternoon with its soft light, easy elegance and touch of nostalgia,” Capel said.

Summerfield is available in seafoam, thistle green, soft azure, desert rose and ivory mist. Five sizes are available – 2’6” x 8’6”, 4’ x 5’10”, 5’3” x 7’10”, 7’6” x 10’10” and 8’10” x 11’9”. A 5’3 x 7’10” rug may retail for under $449.

Capel Rugs is looking forward to a busy High Point Market despite the many business challenges facing the home furnishings industry, including ongoing price pressures caused by import tariffs and the war in Iran, Capel added. “Our retailers are always looking for innovative products, and we have a lot of exciting new high-value rugs to show them, including some new made-in-the-U.S. braids that will be debuting this market,” she said.

To encourage retailers to visit its showroom during market, Capel will be serving a signature frozen Frosé cocktail each day. And from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, through Monday, April 27, Capel Rugs will be holding its Rugs & Revelry socials, featuring artisanal charcuterie, and live music.

In addition, Capel Rugs will once again offer a special stuffed animal giveaway to customers who place orders at market.

ATLANTA, GA, April 2026 — Cappadocia Rugs will showcase their latest collections at High Point Market this month, offering a focused, hands-on approach to design and production. As designers increasingly prioritize quality, sourcing, and origin, the company preserves centuries-old techniques, material integrity, and long-standing artisan relationships.

Founded on a family tradition that began in Anatolia, Cappadocia Rugs remains closely connected to its production source. The company oversees each stage of creation, from the loom to its warehouse in Atlanta, maintaining a direct link between artisans and the finished product. Each rug is hand-knotted using carefully sourced wool and natural dyes, which allow the colors to settle into the fibers with richness and variation that faster methods can't match. Drawing on the Oushak weaving tradition while embracing transitional and modern designs, the collection balances heritage with contemporary style.

“Our goal is to create heirlooms that can be passed down through generations, just as the artistry has been carried on through our family,” said Ahmet Koker, CEO of Cappadocia Rugs. “High Point Market is an important opportunity for us to connect with the design community and build lasting relationships.”

Selected highlights from the line include the Antalya rug, a refined interpretation of Oushak design with a softer palette and low pile. The Artisan rug features celadon, terracotta, and washed indigo tones against an ivory background, while the Pure Luxe design offers a more sculptural surface, with raised and lower pile creating tonal contrast. All collections can be customized in size, shape, color, and pattern.

Cappadocia Rugs will exhibit at High Point Market from April 25 through April 29 at the Suites at Market Square, M-8041, Mezzanine. On Saturday, April 25, the company will host an open house with the owners from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, featuring Turkish delights and light refreshments.
