RUG INSIDER Magazine has announced its winter 2022 production schedule with advertising and editorial deadlines. The award-winning trade journal in its 25th year of publication continues to expand industry coverage as part of its year-long anniversary celebration. For winter, publisher Peter Woodaman is adding MM InStyle, a new machine-made feature.

The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) welcomes Alex Shuford, III to the role of chair for its board of directors. Shuford, CEO of Rock House Farm Family of Brands and Century Furniture, has served on the HPMA board and executive committee since 2018 and will serve two years in this new role. Shuford follows Dudley Moore, Jr., president of Otto & Moore, who served as board chair for 3 years and now moves to the role of immediate past chair.

Leading floor covering and home accents manufacturer Nourison showcased a Prismatic vignette designed by Francis Toumbakaris, at their showroom during High Point Market. The vignette featured two new designs added to the best-selling Prismatic area rug collection, PRS25 Multicolor and PRS26 Seafoam/Gold as well as a gallery wall of 2x3 rug samples displayed as framed art. PRS25 Multicolor recreates the look of a beautiful sunset in rich shades of red, golden yellow, orange, pink, purple and blue, and PRS26 Seafoam/Gold features multi-toned blues and splashes of yellow.

Coinciding with the long-awaited return of real-life design-world events, COVER Connect New York hosted a select group of dynamic rug companies together from across North America and beyond, at The Altman Building, Manhattan, from September 25-27, 2021. Scheduled to take place the month that the world’s premier buyers traditionally look to source rugs in New York — COVER Connect New York was the first dedicated handmade rug show that many of the exhibitors and visitors had been able to attend in two years.

Capel Rugs will debut major additions to the high-profile Genevieve Gorder and COCOCOZY licensed rug programs at the October 16 - 20 High Point Market, located in Market Square, space 112.

COCOCOZY will be introducing four collections, including the Cobblestone, Escape, Happy Day and Pulse collections. Genevieve Gorder will be showcasing seven collections, including the Arrows, Azteca, Criss-Cross, Deco, La Fete de Dot, Tropical Fete and Vintage Moroc collections.

Tamarian, one of the largest importers of Tibetan hand-knotted rugs in the US, continues expansions and improvements to their High Point showroom in order to offer a more in-depth and enhanced experience with their products and services. The upgraded location, at the Centers of High Point on Russell, offers attendees ease with a street-level entrance complete with parking or easy accessibility from the Green Line bus (Stop 12). The October 16th -20th Fall market will see the debut of a large patio space, the TERRACE @ TAMARIAN, that will serve as a “Market Oasis” for a relaxed respite from the indoor air of closed showrooms. Visitors will also enjoy the expanded rug racks for easy viewing of the many new colors, designs, and qualities that will debut at the show.

Leading floor covering and home accents manufacturer Nourison launched a new visual search tool on their website, nourison.com. This new tool will help customers easily search Nourison’s extensive collections of over 20,000 products and quickly find the perfect options. The new tool allows customers to upload their own images of patterns, styles or products and search Nourison’s extensive product database to find similar matches. Customers can also start with Nourison products on the site to find similar matches.

For the fall High Point market, Kalaty brings one of the company’s largest and most impressive new product presentations to their High Point showroom (IHFC, G-369). On display this fall, customers will find a broad array of Kalaty’s newest area rug fashions, which includes high-end hand-knotted designs in sophisticated colors and styles as well as recent additions to best-selling collections plus additions to the growing K-TWO series of popular-priced open-distribution collections.
