Two remarkable Katie Merz x Kalaty glyph-art area rug collections – bklynwrks and sportsglyphs – are making their long-awaited debut and are among the excitement to be found at the Kalaty IHFC (G-369) showroom at the spring 2023 High Point market. For the new bklynwrks and sportsglyphs collections, which feature the renowned Brooklyn-born-and-bred mural artist’s inimitable spontaneous free-hand hieroglyph artwork, Kalaty translated Katie’s glyph art into highly appealing area rug designs in trendy colorways that are ideal for incorporating into today’s homes, apartments, lofts, condos and more.
The initial collections in the Katie Merz x Kalaty licensed collaboration – artwrks and colorwrks – were derived from Merz’s portfolio of contemporary ink-and-watercolor works on paper and introduced at the spring 2022 High Point market. With the addition of bklynwrks and sportsglyphs, the Katie Merz x Kalaty licensed rug series now comprises four collections with more of Merz’s singular artistic area rug designs to come at future markets.
