“Controlled Color Character is a fiber innovation that allows us to achieve both the look of a piece-dyed yarn and the superior durability of a high-performance solution-dyed PET fiber,” explains John Crews, director of soft surface product design for Shaw Floors and Anderson Tuftex. “People love things that are 'perfectly imperfect' in appearance, so we found a way to create a carpet that has a handmade look to uniquely convey a casual comfort.”
What is the inspiration for John and his team? Sometimes they get it from the fashion industry, while always being mindful of consumer preferences and lifestyle trends.
“The barrier between the home and office is blurred. People just want to be in a space that's comfortable and beautiful. The home must function in eight different ways at a time. And if you've got kids and dogs, that’s another consideration,” observed Crews. “People don't just want one flooring choice in their home, they want and need several.”
For homeowners wanting carpet, Shaw Floors and Anderson Tuftex have the answer to this multifunctional way of living. New "casual comfort” carpets are made for today’s residential consumer and come in a wide range of looks and colors. They are manufactured with Shaw’s famous Anso fiber that offers bleach/fade resistance and industry-leading stain/soil protection. “The performance technology is infused in our Pet Perfect carpets thanks to our Anso fiber.
