Zollanvari USA has invited the Kabul Carpet Export Center to hold a rug show and sale to the trade only at its warehouse at 600 Meadowlands Pkwy #130, Secaucus, NJ 07094. The Monday through Wednesday sale will showcase 500 rugs made during the COVID-19 lockdown by weavers across Afghanistan. The sale is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The collection features a range of Kazaks and Super Kazaks as well as many Gabbehs, Khorjins and Chobis. Also included are stunningly inventive contemporary designs along with dozens of flatweaves. For a preview, see the KCEC website www.afghanrugs.us.
Throughout the pandemic, KCEC has worked to keep carpets flowing out of Afghanistan both to meet the strong demand from retailers and to generate income for the carpet makers.
Zollanvari USA, which is hosting KCEC, will be offering its own latest shipments of rugs as well in this first industry show since the lockdown began.
This special sale will be followed on Memorial Day Weekend by an Afghan Artisan Rug Pop-up held by KCEC for the public at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 123 W.18th Street, Manhattan, from May 28-31. The special prices offered by KCEC at Zollanvari USA to the trade will be available at the Pop-up as well for those unable to attend the special sale.
KCEC is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and made possible through the generosity of the American people.
