At the 2019 Atlanta and Las Vegas summer markets, Kalaty Rug Corporation is introducing new collections in a variety of weaves and constructions while simultaneously adding new designs to some of the company’s existing best-selling hand-knotted collections. Among Kalaty’s summer introductions are heirloom-quality rugs in new abstract patterns featuring intricate carving and/or unique textural effects as well as modern takes on traditional motifs, chic easy-to-live-with transitional styles, plus casual tonal loop-and-pile weaves.

“At summer markets, as with all markets, we anticipate seeing both new and existing customers, dealers and designers at our Atlanta and Las Vegas showrooms,” says Kamran Kalaty, a company spokesman. “Our interactions with market customers are an essential aspect of what we do. The reactions of dealers and designers who attend these important shows continue to help us as we assess current and future rug collections; plus their input is critical to how we develop our various marketing directions.”

Newest hand-knotted collection showing at summer 2019 markets:

Infinity Collection

New hand-knotted designs are being added to existing heirloom collections:

Capri Collection
For those who appreciate the modern side of traditional, this fashionable collection of borderless “broken” Oushak designs is hand-knotted in a Turkish-style weave using a combination of premium wool and Silkette™.

Equinox Collection
Modern colors and “broken” transitional motifs fuse together in this collection that is hand-knotted in a Tibetan knot weave using a combination of wool and Silkette™. Selected rugs feature the added dimension of hand carving.

Oberoi Collection
Modern meets traditional in this heirloom-quality collection of fashion-forward borderless designs. Hand-knotted using 100% premium hand-spun wool, the collection features classic inspirations in stylish colors, motifs and patterns that are further enhanced by artisanal erased effects.

Oushak Collection
Hand knotted in a Turkish-style weave using 100% premium hand-spun wool, these perennially popular rugs remain in a special class all their own! While colors within the collection range from traditional classics to updated modern tones more in keeping with today’s tastes and lifestyles, all of these timeless designs and motifs retain the unique characteristics prized in antique Oushaks.

Natori Lhasa
Inspired by her own abstract prints, fashion industry icon Josie Natori showcases her East-meets-West design aesthetic by “bringing art into life” through the designs in the Lhasa series. Using a combination of premium wool and Silkette™ in subdued color palettes, each rug is hand-knotted in a Tibetan weave, then further highlighted with high-low carved textural effects.

Soumak Collection
Hand knotted of 100% premium wool, the double-sided flatweave Soumak rugs display a unique herringbone texture that is characteristic of the soumak weave. Inspirations for this eclectic collection consist of a variety of motifs that display classic Sultan, Mahal, Nomadic and other tribal-influences.

K-TWO – Kalaty’s popular-priced series of collections covering a wide range of constructions, weaves, styles and popular colorways – has quickly become an important category and asset for the company. This summer, with the addition of the Kingsley and Polaris collections, the K-TWO series now totals 16 collections.
Kingsley Collection
Updated traditional designs in modern fashion colors, power-loomed in a multi-textural high-low weave using a creative combination of Silkette™ and acrylic yarns. Each of these high-quality rugs is hand bound and hand finished to enhance the look and style-quotient of your décor.

“We’re nearly halfway through 2019, and we are already experiencing an excellent year at Kalaty,” says company president Ramin Kalaty. “No doubt, the strong economy is a contributing factor to successful sales in the high-end hand-knotted category. Yet, we are also seeing excellent sales in our more popular-priced K-TWO rugs. If the economy continues in this trend, by year-end, Kalaty will have had one of its best years.”
