Dalton, GA - December 9, 2025 – Oriental Weavers, the world’s leading woven carpet manufacturer, is ramping up its commitment to renewable energy. The company has launched its second solar power plant at Oriental Weavers International in 10th of Ramadan City, generating 2.6 MWp of clean electricity.
“This project takes us another step closer to a cleaner, greener future,” said Yasmine Khamis, Chair of Oriental Weavers Carpets. “We are integrating renewable energy across our operations while leading the way in sustainable industrial development.” She added, “Under its 2025–2030 decarbonization plan, Oriental Weavers plans to install rooftop solar systems totaling 17 MW over the next five years, covering roughly 20% of the facility’s energy needs. The initiative supports Egypt’s national renewable energy goals while strengthening the company’s global sustainability leadership.”

The new 2.6 MWp solar plant is expected to generate 4.5 GWh annually and cut 2,000 metric tons of carbon emissions each year. Building on this momentum, the company is planning a 5 MWp solar installation by Q3 2026.
